WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Light to moderate, but freshening northerly winds. Weather fine at first, but later clouding over and rain probable within 24 hours. Seas light to moderate, but later rising on the west coast. Temperatures mild. An intense anti-cyclone covers the North Island, but is moving away eastward, and a rather deep,' depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea. - Forecast for Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:— The indications are for moderate northerlies, freshening. There is a. prospect of fair weather, after about 10 hours clouding over; r<tin later. Barometer falling slowly. Seas _smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind, north, light; sea, smooth; weather, fine and clear, with scattered clouds; visibility, good; barometer, high and steady.
