N.Z. DAIRY COMPANY OYER 64,000 TONS. CONSIGNMENTS SATISFACTORY SEASON'S PROSPECTS GOOD. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HAMILTON", this (lay. Record production and appreciably better, returns for the producer are disclosed in the seventeenth annual report of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, which is to be presented at the annual meeting- of the company in Hamilton on August 20. The directors state that a substantial increase in output has been due largely to the loyal support accorded by the suppliers, together with favourable climatic conditions during most of the season. . The results of the consignment policy were regarded as satisfactory. The outputs of commodities manufactured by the company .during the season were as follows, those for the previous season being given for comparison:— 1935-30. 1034-35. 1033-34. Tons. Tons. Tons. Totals 04,348 . 59,244 01.27S The report adds that land, buildings and plant, excluding the colliery, are valued at £895,705. Issued capital is set down at £1,378,473, and paid up capital at £1,300,575. The directors anticipated with confidence that co-operation between the suppliers and the company would result in products of a high standard of quality under the guaranteed price scheme. The company had acquired a substantial interest in the New Zealand Dairy Farm Mortgage Company to assist land mortgagors.
The average price advanced for butterfat for butter-making during the season was 10.273 d, exclusive of share capital.
Tliei total payment on finest grade butterfat delivered direct to factories would .be 13.172 d per lb, including' contributions to cream cartage and railage. I The average price for butterfat of finest | grade other than direct delivered would be 13.0i»8d per lb, including cream cartage andirailage. Cheese factories would, in accordance with their respective manufacturing results, receive varying payments} Casein suppliers had received in" addition to butter payments an average premium of 1.5 d per lb of butterfat. They would also receive a further ,93« d per lb of butterfat available from realisation of casein. The milk powder suppliers had received in addition to \ butter advance the usual premiums for skim milk. i The following retiring directors have been re-elected unopposed:—Messrs. D. Bruce, F. E. lllughcs, A. Hayward, representing the South-western, South-eastern and Thames Valley electoral districts respectively. An election will be held for the Northern electoral district.
