REVENUE BUOYANCY.
CITY COUNCIL'S RATES, LARGE PAYMENTS MADE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. Nearly 50 per cent of the current year's rates of the Palmerston North City Council have been paid within one month of the demands being issued. The demands aggregate £70,000, of which £30,400 ha<l been paid by July 31 The council offered a rebate of 2.V per cent for payment before that date.
