PUKEKOHE PRODUCE.
ONION SALES IMPROVED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, Monday. A fair demand is offering for Southern potatoes, the market having a firmer tone than last week, although quotations have been advanced by 5/ per ton. Good -supplies of Red Dakotas offering are selling at from £8 5/ to £9 per- ton, f.0.r., I'ukekohe. With a fall of £2 per ton for local onions during the past week, the demand has shown an improvement but is not brisk. Plentiful supplies of good quality, repicked onions are offering, and are quoted at from £6 to £6 10/ per ton. A strong demand is offering for all classes of fresh vegetables, and with the exception of Savoy cabbages, supplies are heavy. Savoy cabbages are scarce, the heavy demand during the season having about exhausted the supplies, while prices have advanced by 1/ per large sack. This shortage has increased the demand for all-heart cabbages, which have also ad-1 vanced by 1/. Other vegetables remain I firm. Special all-heart cabbages are bring-1 ing 7/6 per large sack and 6/ per super sack; Savoy cabbages, 8/ per large sack; choice quality cauliflower, 7/6 per large sack; new season's carrots, 4/ per sugar bag; parsnips, 4/; beetroot, 3/6; swede turnips, 3/3; good quality grey pumpkins, 6/6 per cwt; lettuce, 5/ per banana case. Cauliflower plants are selling at 7/6 per 1000; lettuce plants, 9/ per 1000; cabbage plants, 6/6 per 1000 for all varieties; straw onion plants, 3/6 per 1000, and brown onion plants 4/ per 1000.
