DULL MARKET. TWO SALES AT FIRST CALL. Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange has been rather dull this week, and at this morning's call only two sales were finalised. There was fairly steady bidding, but a weak tone was apparent. There were few buyers m the banking section, and New Zealands were quoted from £2 0/3 to £2 0/9. Insurances were steady, New Zealands being quoted ex dividend; with a buyer at £3 0/9 and no sellers. Amongst Australians, Broken Hill were lower, with a market between £3 12/ and £3 12/9. Buyers for Colonial Sugars dropped back to £43, and for G. J. Coles 6d lower, at £3 17/0. Consolidated Bricks made further headway, with quotations from 9/9 to 10/. In Government stocks the only line offering was a parcel of 1940's at £101 15/. A Fluctuating Market. There was a slightly more confident tone at the noon call, except for Bank of Xew Zealands, which changed hands at current values, and were still on offer at the same figure, and Nationals of Australasia, which lost to 2/ on a sale at £14. Quotations Tor Australian industrials indicated a hardening, following a weak spell. Buyers of Australian Glass raised their limits for £4 11/, and there were inquiries for Broken Hill ontribntings 3d higher. Offers for Electrolytic Zincs also improved 3d for the ordinaries. For Consolidated Bricks buyers advanced their . limits a further Id, attracting sellers at 9/11. In the mining, Mount Morgans had reduced limits, between 14/2 and 14/5. The morning's offering of 1940 4 per cent stock was reduced to £101 10/, but no business resulted. SAIiES COMPIXTED. AT THE 3.15 P.ltt. CALL YESTERDAY— Last Sale. £ s d fed Coin.
