£120,000 ESTATE.

SETTLER IN HAWKE'S BAY. £1000 FOR HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NAPKR, this day. The estate of the late Mr. Walter Shrimpton, one of the best known Hawke's Bay settlers, who died last week at the age of 00, has been sworn at under £120,000. The estate is bequeathed to members of Mr. Shrimpton's family, with the exception of the sum of £1000, which is to go to the Napier Hospital. The money is to he invested and the income devoted to the maintenance of the Shrimpton Ward, a children's ward which was founded b> Mr. Shrimpton in 1913, following the death of one of his children. The ward was destroyed on February 3, 11931, but has since been rebuilt.
