Diver's Airpipe Broken at Helmet. UNUSUAL FATALITY CAUSED. (Received 2.30 p.m.) PERTH, this day. K. Sakai, head diver of Gregory and Company's pearling fleet, lost his life when below water near Broome. His airpipe was fouled by a whale and torn cut at the coupling in the diving helj.'iet, thus allowing water to enter the diving-dress. Sakai was dead when hauled aboard. This is the first fatality caused by a whale among the Broome pearling fleet.
