TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH
"DOWN WITH A RUSH." AUSTRALIAN STOCKS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, tins day
A definite reaction from recent very high prices of Australian industrial shares saw values come back with a rush on Exchange this morning. Sellers' limits were reduced substantially. Sales of Australian Glass were made at a drop of 3/3. Contributing shares i'o Broken Hill dropped by 1/6. Of business put through, two notable exceptions to reduced prices were P. and O. deferred, which rose 2/6, to sale at 9/, further buyers £1 10/, and Nemona Gold Dredging, which were 3d up, at 1/9. United Building Society eased b,y 1/ to par, with further buyers at that figure and no sellers. Sellers of Broken Hill came down to £3 13/. Coles were on offer at £3 17/6, compared with yesterday's business at £3 18/4. Morts Docks were dealt in 7d lower, Zinc quotations showed a fractional easing, and Hume Pipes had sellers at yesterday's sale price of £10/8. On the other hand,.fair support was given to a number of New Zealand company shares. Beatli's looked better, with buyers at £14/6. An inquiry for Mason, Struthers saw buyers improving their offers by a few pence. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday.
