INDOOR RINK IN AUCKLAND. NEW COMPANY'S PROPOSALS. Aucklanders are to have an entirely new field of eport—skating on real ice, ice hockey, and dancing on ice if the objects of Broadway Glaciarium, Ltd., are realised. This new company has obtained a Crown lease of a suitable section in Broadway, Newmarket, at an annual rental of £250, with perpetual right of renewal, the rental to be reviewed every 21 years. Their plans are complete for the erection of a building suitable for a refrigerated ice skating rink. The building is to be of one storey, with -accommodation for 700 skaters on the ice floor, and 1500 spectators. Special features are the insulated roof, walls and floor, and the refrigerating plant. Provisional directors of the company are Messrs. W. G. Oifer, S. E. Scott, W. Frazer, A. E. Clinkard and C. E. Phillips, and £26,500 in £1 shares is the proposed capital. The opening of the new rink is planned for about Christmas.
