LONG SERVICE.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION. - MR. ALLUM TO RETIRE. Notice of his intention to retire frtmi the Seddon Memorial Technical College board of managers, was given by the chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, at a meeting of the board this afternoon, when it was reported that he, Mrs. Mcßride and Messrs. T. G. Julian and J. W. Mitchell, would complete their term of office in the near future.
In announcing his Intention, Mr. Allum said that he had been a member of the board for 18 years, and chairman for three years, and he considered he had played his part 'in the work of the board. He also acknowledged the support given him during the period he had been chairman.
