EMPIRE TRAIN.
Proposed Tour Through Britain Next Year. CORONATION GESTURE. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 22. A proposal for an Empire train to tonr Great Britain during the Coronation year has been made by the Victorian Agent-General, Sir Richard Linton, and will be considered by a committee on which the High Commissioners have been asked to nominate representatives. The Dominions Secretary, Mr. Malcolm has approved the project. The Earl of Elgin, presiding at a special meeting of Empire representatives, slated that it would be a gesture of loyalty to the King and an excellent means of educating Britain on the significance of the Empire. The estimated cost for six months of a 10-vehicle train for the tour is £37,000.
