PROMOTER REINSTATED,
DICKSON'S SUSPENSION REMOVED. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 22. Following settlement of Maurice Strickland's claim, the British Boxing Board of Control has removed the suspension imposed on the promoter Jeff Dickson. A cable from London dated July 14 stated that the Boxing Board of Control had suspended Dickson indefinitely without explanation, arthough for many years he has been one of the biggest boxing promoters in Britain. According to the "Daily Mail" the suspension followed a complaint by the New Zealander Maurice Strickland, who alleged the non-payment of £25. The sum was stated to be due to him as a forfeit for a match arranged, but not staged between him and the Finnish heavy-weight Gunner Barlund.

PURCELL TO FIGHT IN OTAGO,
(By Telegraph.—Special to '"Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. Jimmy Purcell, New South Wales boxer, arrives in Dunedin next month under contract for two fights. The first will take place on August 29, probably against Stirling or Mudgway.
