ELLERSLIE TRACK.

THIS MORNING'S WORK. XO FAST TIMES RECORDED. Xo. 3 grass track, with the poles 10ft out, was available at Ellerslie this morning, and work was a little more brisk than usual. The going was heavy and consequently no fast times were recorded. l'leetwind, Haputale and Zane Grey, after running their first two furlongs in 27 4-ss, got to the end of five furlongs in 1.10 2-5. Fleetwind was doing best at the finish. Speedfast was given a similar task, which occupied L 9 1-3. This hack is on the improve. King Ara and Teddy Boy completed six furlongs in 1.23 S-5, the first three taking 39 2-ss. Royal Appellant was given useful work, being timed to run his last three furlongs in 44 l-os. Tybalt ran home from the threefurlong post in 42 l-ss. He was doing it easily at the end. Illumani strode over nix furlongs in 1.23 and Jewelled Girdle was going very easily to run the same d'stance in 1.27. Knight of' Austi-alia ran his first three furlongs in 41 l-ss, and finished six in 1.23 3-5. The Vaals— Country Air gelding and the Vaals— Country Picnic gelding in H. Rama's stable, reeled off three furlongs in 41 2-ss. It was an encouraging effort for novices. Horowhenua was going very easily throughout six furlongs, which he traversed in 1.26. Landlubber got to the end .of five furlongs in 1.8 1-5. • He ran the first two in 20 4-os and finished on nicely. Roman Mascot worked over a round, taking 1.3D 3-5 for her last seven furlongs. Caliente was given a useful task, being speeded np over the last halfmile, over which she averaged about 15s to the furlong. Valspear put plenty of dash into his work while traversing six furlongs in 1.22. He ran the first three in 39 3-5s and could have improved on his effort. Kilonsoa worked over a round cn the sand track, covering her last halfmile in 54 4-ss. Solas (T. Williams) was sent over four hurdles in the centre and she gave a good display, though she rapped the last obstacle.
