TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH
AN EASIER TENDENCY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Brisk business but an easier tendency in values was recorded 011 Exchange this morning. The main feature was heavy sales in Coles shares at lower levels from £3 18/ to £3 18/4, compared with ±13 18/6. Government stocks were quieter. Banks were firm, New Zealands taking an upward turn to £2 0/6, with further sellers at that figure. The bulk of the dealings were made in the miscellaneous section. Broken Hills lost 1/2, to £3 13/4, later quotations being at £3 13/3 to £3 13/6. Tobaccos were 2d lower. Mort Dock, cum dividend, brought 12/. In the mining, Lyells improved another penny, but Morgans were Id lower, at 14/5, with further sellers at that price. CHIIISTCIIUItCH. Wednesday.
