BAND DANCE.
FIRST BATTALION REGIMENT,
Attractive decorations were to be seen at the Symondsville Studio last night, when rows of multi-coloured fairy lights and balloons suspended overhead were used for the annual dance of the band of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own). Music was supplied by the members of the Blind Institute Orchestra.- During the evening cornet solos by Mr. Alan Morton and a dance demonstration by Miss Ruby Sheriff were enjoyed. The ladies' committee comprised: Mrs. M. Stace, who wore a frock of black marocain; Mrs. M. McKechnie, black chiffon; Mrs. H. Mills, briar rose marocain; Mrs. R. McMillan, black souple satin; Mrs. J. R. Thomson, midnight blue velvet; Mrs. F. Dainty, silver grey marocain; Miss E. Strange, ashes of roses inatelasse.
Among those present were: —Mrs. A. Hall, wearing citron shaded taffeta; Mrs. A. Heap, ice blue satin; Mrs. J. Low, pervenche blue crepe fleuri; Mrs. G. Ividd, black crepe craquelle; Mrs. A. Burgundy, crepe suede; Mrs. R. E. Grant, black panne velvet; Mrs. E. Hallett, black souple satin; Mrs. H. Waugh, white crinkle crepe; Mrs. W. C. Pilgrim, Delpli blue georgette; Mrs. A. Egan, ivory souple satin; Mrs. Sillitoe, bronze shot taffeta; Mrs. L. Armitage, navy souple satin; Mrs. F. Laurance, black marocain; Mrs. B. Gear, black lace. Miss P. Webster wore gold lace; Miss R. Whittle, green satin "and
silver lame; Miss K. O'Malley. daffodil souple satin; Miss B. Armitage, mist blue souple satin; Miss P. Rae, willov green /maroeain and gold; Miss O. Brenchley, apple green ring velvet; Miss E. Armitage, powder blue embossed taffeta; Miss R. Reynolds, Marina green taffeta; Miss J. Goddard, Marina green crepe fleuri; Miss S. Swayne, lavender georgette and lace; Miss Muriel Laurance, lacquer red satin beaute; Miss J. Miller, mist blue maroeain; Mies B.' McLean, Wedgwood blue faille; Miss M.
