WEDDINGS IN FIJI.

carter—Mcdonald. SUVA, July 13. A quiet and pretty wedding took place on July 11 at tlie Roman Catholic Presbytery when the Rev. Father Roaclie, of Xew Zealand, married Victor Carlyle, second son of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Carter, of Mount St. John's Avenue, Epsom, Auckland, to Marie Agnes McDonald, of 12, Trinity Street, Ponsonby, Auckland. The bride wore a dainty floral georgette gown and white picture hat and carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridegroom's brother, Mr. W. Carter, acted as best man and Mr. H. Nicol gave the bride away. Light refreshments were partaken of at the Grand Pacific Hotel, where the usual toasts were honoured.

BOSSLEY—ISRAEL. SUVA, July 17. A fashionable wedding took place at Lautoka on July 11 when Mr. S. lon Bossley was married to Miss Barbara Rose Israel, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Israel, o,f Lautoka. The ■bride wore a gown of magnolia satin showing a new rucliing on the front ot the bodice and skirt. To accentuate the slim lines tight sleeves were fitted to the wrist and a long train cut into the skirt. ■The only trimming was shown in two large pearl ornaments at the neckline. A wreath of orange blossoms surmounted by a small tulle halo held the billowing veil iti place. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Barton (a visitor from Sydney), Miss Margaret Ragg and Miss Marie Cousins. Their rose taffeta frocks with fitted bodices and full skirts were similar in colour and design and showed touches of silver, and their headdresses were of plaited tulle with veils falling to the shoulder. Mr. Bill Snowsill acted as best man .and Mr. Basil Petersen and Mr. Harry Bossley were groomsmen. The Rev. Bull officiated at the ceremony, which was held at the Methodist Church. Among the guests were Lady Angela Dawney, Commodore Drummond, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Abrahams, of Melbourne.
