SCHOOL COMPETITIONS
Singing, dancing, elocution and instrumental music competitions for the pupils of the Ponsonby, Bayfield and Richmond Road schools were opened last evening before an audience of parents and friends in the hall of All Saints' Church, Ponsonby. The competitions, which are being conducted by the Ponsonby School Parents' and Teachers' Association, will be continued to-night and concluded with a final concert tomorrow evening. Judges of the items given ]ist night were Mrs. M. Wilcox (music and singing) and Miss Anita Webster (dancing and elocution). Miss E. Carr and Miss A. Clarke acted as accompanists.
