WOODS FOR AUCKLAND. Joe Kopach Woods, one of the most sensational attractions of the current wrestling season, will be in action at Auckland for the first time next Monday night, when he will meet the electrifying New Yorker Paul Boesch in the local ring. In all his Xew Zealand matches YVoods has created a very fine impression by his fast and skilful work, in which the will to win is always in evidence. Woods is a bundle of energy and believes in attack as the best means of defence. No matter what position he may find himself in he always fights hard, and his elbow jolts, for instance, have earned him a wholesome respect among , the other wrestlers. Some of the most sensational matches which have been staged this season have been those in which Woods lias been a competitor and the most spectacular of these have been the ones in which he has wrestled Boesch. The two men are very much of the same size and they have proved to be evenly matched. Woods was the fii-st man to check Boesch's winning way iu the Dominion and has continued to hold his own with the dropkick expert in subsequent matches. Woods was a boxer before ho took to wrestling and bis early training is reflected in his ability to both deal out and absorb heavy punishment. Boesch is definitely established as a .popular favourite with the local crowd and the opportunity of seeing another of his fast and skilful displays is bound to be welcomed by local enthusiasts.

LEWIS TO VISIT DOMINION

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Advice has been received by Mr. Walter Miller, team manager for the Dominion Wrestling Union, that "Strangler" Lewis will visit New Zealand soon. Accompanied by Ted Tliye, the well-known promoter, who will act as manager for the tour, Lewis has arranged to leave the United States in September en route for India. Mr. Miller said it had been arranged that Lewis would break his journey in New Zealand, remaining for a month, when matches would be arranged for him.
