LIBERIA'S INVITATION.
TYPE OF NEGRO WANTED. MONROVIA (Liberia). Types of negro settlers needed by Liberia to modernise the world's only negro republic were suggested by President Edwin J. Barclay to the United States Minister here. "Opportunists and political agitators are not wanted," he emphasised. "What we need are skilled artisans, trained agriculturists, business men with capi tal, and young physicians possessing the missionary spirit to improve health conditions among the aborigines."
'Under Barclay's new regime, Liberia is,undergoing a thorough "house-clean-ing" and reconstruction campaign.
