FREE MILK.

MOUNT ALBERT SCHOOLS,

REQUEST TO COUNCIL. Asking that the council take up the matter with the authorities with the object of getting free milk supplied to the Kowhai 'Intermediate and Edendale Schools the respective committees of those schools had letters before the Mount Albert Borough Council last evening. It was suggested that all the schools in the Mount Albeit district should be supplied with free milk in the same manner as supplied to the city schools.

It was decided to reply that the council was in entire sympathy with the supply of milk to school children, but as the Government had stated that it intended to introduce a free milk scheme, the council did not consider it advisable to commence a separate scheme which might clash with the larger one in the future..
