MISSION IMPRESSED.
Busy New Zealand Delegation In Rarotonga. OVERWHELMING HOSPITALITY. (Received 0.30 a.m.) * RAROTONGA, July 20. The members of the New Zealand Parliamentary delegation have spent a busy week. On Tuesday they met, at Avarua, all parties interested in the fruit industry. The course proposed was outlined and the co-operation of all concerned'was asked. The delegation is visiting the plantations and obtaining a thorough acquaintance with the conditions under which fruit is produced and handled. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the delegation visited plantations, some in the interior, involving heavy • tramping and horseback rides. Luncheon was given by growers in each district and a sumptuous feast in native fashion. To-day, to-morrow and Wednesday the delegation will inspect more plantations and will take evidence on Thursday at the Avarua Courthouse. The delegation was greatly impressed by a display given by 500 pupils of the Avarua Schools, also by the industry and goodwill of the natives. Their hospitality has been overwhelming. Judge Ayson and Mr. S. J. Smith, Secretary of the Cook Islands, have been of great assistance and their knowledge has been invaluable.
