WOOL RETURNS.
LAST SEASON'S CHEQUE
OVER £10,000,000. A highly satisfactory wool season in 1934-35 is reported in Dalgety and Co.'s annual review, total receipts amounting to £10,083,297 as compared with £4,480,479 the previous season. The review staves that the outstanding feature of the season was the solid and continued demand for all classes offered and the regularity of prices throughout. There was a marked improvement in prices during 1935-30. For fine wools the price generally was well above the cost of production and, in many cases, erossbreds sold at a price that left a small margin of profit to the grower. Sales throughout Xcw Zealand were a record for the quantity disposed of, which included a large quantity of camed-over wool. Realisations in the past eight seasons compare as follow (thousands of bales and £ omitted): — Bales Value, Average sold* £ perlh. (000's).
