SALVATION ARMY HOMES.
SECRETARY'S INSPECTION. In the course of a tour of inspection of Salvation Army institutions in all parts of Now Zealand, the recently appointed Dominion secretary for men's •ocial work, Brigadier G-, Dry, is at present in Auckland, and yesterday inspected the Men's Industrial Home, at tfnsom, where accommodation is provided for over 50 homeless men. He expressed his complete satisfaction with :'n» work of the home. Over the week-end the Brigadier inspected the Boto Boa and Pakatoa Inebriates Homes, where he again found that excellent conditions prevailed. "Splendid results are being achieved, over 70 per cent of the men who are committed to the island failing to return or come before the Courts again," he said. A social evening was arranged at Roto Roa in honour of the secretary's v'isit, many of the inmates contributing to the programme. Brigadier Dry visited the Grange Home for Girls, in Ponsonby, and the Work' men's Home, in St. Paul's Street, to-day, and will return to Wellington this evening.
