DAVIS CUP.

Australia's Doubles Team To be Rearranged. McGRATH REPLACES QUIST. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 19. It lias been decided that V. McGrath shall partner J. Crawford for Australia in the Davis Cup doubles against Germany to-morrow. Adrian Quist's ankle, strained in his singles match against von Cramm, is a little better to-niglit, and he hopes to be able to play in the singles against Henkel on Tuesday. Henkel will partner von Cramm for Germany in the doubles. In the opening singles matches at' Wimbledon on Saturday Crawford beat Henkel, who retired indisposed, and von Cramm defeated Quist, who played out five sets though handicapped by a twisted ankle. McGrath is the Australian reserve, and he is to be used in the doubles match instead of Quist, to enable the latter to rest his injured ankle in view of his second singles game against Henkei. The play to date indicates that the win will hinge on the doubles match.

MELBOURNE, July 19. An aeroplane took off near Essendon aerodrome yesterday and struck a fence and capsized. The pilot, Mr. George Bills Thompson, who is a radio announcer, received severe head lacerations, and Ronald Larsen, aged 10, an aeroground assistant, fractured his skull. His condition is critical.
