THE MEANS TEST.
To read, the leading articles and subleaders in the '"Auckland Star" one would think at times your paper had a'secret service department at work to get the information. In fact your sub-leader 011 the "Burden of v iitstenance was very ably and astutelv written, just as if your paper hail the inside information and was in the know. 1 mislit also mention when I reathe "Means Test" appearing in your paper on June 10 I thonaht the "means test' very reasonable indeed because I have always reckoned you must ha\e a reasonable "means test" to prevent banking accounts from being perpetuated indefinitely where misers and hoarder.? are living 011 sustenance and not drawing on their banking accounts. Otherwise how an you going to evolve from the old economic system into the new one of economic security if money in the banks is not brought into circulation? When the now economic system of economic security comes into existence there will be 110 need to "put a little away" for a rainy day. Money in the future will liave to be the servant of mankind instead of the master and tyrant as in the past, and there will be no need for a man not to draw 0:1 his banking account while drawin j sustenance, it is very wise to keep a reasonable "means test" on the Statute Hook, providing that after the first £25, 1/ a week lie deducted 011 every £25 up to £:iO(J against ' full sustenance. so that he will be compelled to draw 011 his' banking account as time iroes on. EXGIXE' 'DIiIVEK.
