THE COCKY AGE.
(Bv FRANK A. GARBUTT.)
I wonder if our young people would accept a little advice from one who is younger in spirit —if not in years—than most of them. They never have—but one may—and that would make it worth while. All human beings except those blessed with an inferiority complex reach the "cock}' age" at some stage of their existence. The eymotoins are easily recognised and the disease" is not difficult to diagnose. The first manifestation is a growing conviction that you know more than your parents.- They warmed your bottle, paid for your education, give you spending money and they mean well —but they are "behind the times." "You are living in a different age." You are correct—you are living in a different age—the age of inexperience, the age of selfishness—in -l o. i, the cocky age. The second manifesta 'on comcfi later in life about the time you make a . little easy money, if you are fortunate enough to do so, and you become firmly convinced that you are a smart busiress man. Oh, yes, the advice —whoever you are —whenever it is—that you know' more than your parents or feel you are smart—get ready for a bum]) —you have readied the cocky age. — (X.A.N. A.) .
