ELECTRIC POWER.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY. "TERRIBLY INVOLVED." STATE CONTROL FAVOURED. (By Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The -question of the future control of the supply o.f electric power in the Dominion has' not yet been investigated by the Government, but the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, said to-day- that after taking a hurried look at the position lie was satisfied that complete State control was the only solution. ■
Mr. Semplemade it clear" that he wa9 expressing only his personal opinion. The question, he said, had never been before Cabinet and he had not yet had time to look into the position thoroughly. During the next Parliamentary recess he intended to make a thorough investigation into every aspect of the sale of electric power. He recognised that it was a very eonjfplicated problem and that the position at present was "terribly involved," but he thought it should be possible to do something better than what was done at present and his personal view was that the real solution was nationalisation.
