FOR BRITISH SUBJECT. British Official Wireless. (Received 2 p.m.) RUGBY, July 17. Strong representations have been made tiT the Japanese Embassy in London against the brutal treatment of Hussein, a British Indian merchant, and kis wife while under detention at Hsinking, in Manchuria, by the Japanese authorities. Hussein, in addition to being beaten, was subjected to water torture.
