SHIPPING DEADLOCK.
NAPIER WATERFRONT. KENT'S DEPARTURE UNCERTAIN.. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Friday. No agreement has yet been roaehed in the Napier watersiders' dispute. Shipping activities remain at a standstill, the Federal Line's Kent being at anchor in the roadstead waiting to load frozen meat and general cargo for London and the West Coast of England. Her departure 011 Monday for London direct is likely to be postponed; Tt is understood negotiations are in progress between representatives of the employers and the Watersiders' Federation with a view to arriving at some settlement, but 110 definite advice has been received as to whether anything has been accomplished. The workers are demanding to be paid for three hours' time last Tuesday. Two calls for labour were made yesterday morning, but as the watersiders had received no statement from the employers, calls remained unanswered. The cessation of work on the waterfront affects the breakwater as much as it does the vessel at anchor in the roadstead.
