MOTOR INDUSTRY BOOMING. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, July 15. An official record of the sales of new motor cars in May issued by the Ministry of Transport reflects British prosperity in general and of the motor industry in particular. Private cars registered for the first time in May were more numerous than in any previous May, and 20.6 per cent more than in May last year. The total of all motor vehicles registered for the first time in May was 28.4 per cent higher. Motor taxation receipts for the six months ended May 31 totalled £25,134,052 compared with £23,033,830 for the same period last year.
