NEW FEATURE.

'N.Z. WOMAN'S WEEKLY'

NOVEL GARDENING PAGE,

COMPETITION PHOTOGRAPHS,

A new feature is introduced in this week's issue of the "Xew Zealand Woman's Weekly." It is a garden page, which treats the subject from a novel standpoint. For instance, the first garden page has some floral recipes which will be new to all readers. The cooking page gives new Mays of preparing the homely potato, and in addition to the knitting pages, there is another very practical article, with several illustrations, explaining how the busy housewife can do her "daily dozen witii the broom while she is at her sweeping. A remarkable article, by a retired Scotland Yard man, tells how English girls, who have been enticed abroad by various subterfuges, are sometimes sold in Eastern cities like the slaves of ancient times. This is a timely article in view of the concerted international move now being planned, as mentioned in recent newspaper cables, to fight the white slave traffic hi the East. The thrills of big game fishing are graphically described by a woman wiio has experienced them, fighting the big swordfish, and the film pages as usual have a definite interest, which this week is contributed by some well-known directors, who tell what their jobs are really like.

A selection of the first competition photographs will also be found in this issue. The best photograph, as determined by the judges previously announced, will win a free trip to Sydney or, alternatively, a cash prize of £40. and there are other cash prizes, both for competitors and for an associated judging competition. Any reader can still enter for this competition on an equal footing with others who have already submitted photographs.
