AMERICAN HORSE NARROWLY BEATEN. — Lord Stanley's filly Quashed (nearest camera) beating Mr. W. Woodward's Omaha i:a the Ascot Gold Cup last month. Omaha was taken from America to England with the special idea of winning this race, and the event not only created the greatest interest, but produced a most exciting finish. Quashed and Omaha had a great battle over the last couple of furlongs, Quashed getting the decision by a short head. Bokbul, owned by Baron E. de Rothschild, was third.
