THREE-HOUR TRIP.
AEROPLANE SERVICE. WELLINGTON-AUCKLAND. FARES AND TIME-TABLES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A three-hour connection between Wellington and Auckland, with stops at Palmerston North and New Plymouth, is proposed under the time-table drafted by Union Airways, Ltd. Though the make of the machine has not yet been announced it is probable that the company will employ twin-engined aeroplanes of modern design, equipped with blind-flying instruments, radio equipment and all other up-to-date aids to safe flying. Each machine will probably carry two pilots and from six to eight passengers. Ihe company has made formal application for a license and any representations concerning the application have to be made to the Commissioner of Transport in writing not later than July 7, for submission to the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, to be taken into consideration with the application. The proposed time-tables are:— Southward; Leave Auckland, noon; New Plymouth, 1.14; Palmerston North, 2.22; arrive Wellington, 3 p.m. Northward: Leave Wellington, noon; arrive Palmerston North, 12.38; New Plymouth, 1.46; arrive Auckland, 3 p.m. 1 en-minute stops at Palmerston North and New Plymouth are provided for. The suggested fares are:—Wellington to Palmerston North, £1 15/; Palmerston North, to New Plymouth, £2; New Plymouth to Auckland, £3.
