to-day in christchurch. (By Telegraph. —Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The markets were less active pn Exchange this morning. Values were maintained at recent strength, with the exception of Coles, which were jlown to £4 3/ to-day, with further sellers at the sale price, buyers dropping to £4 2/6. Bank of Xew Zealand shares were firm at the highest point of yesterday's dealings, the market closing buyers £2 0/9, sellers £2 1/6. Other banking issues were quiet at unaltered rates. Solid attention was paid to brewery scrip. Carltons moved up, with buying offers of £2 18/ and nearest sellers 2/ away. Buyers of .New Zealand** raised their bids to sellers £2 13/3. Tooth's and Timaru (111 liquidation) sold at strong rates. Among miscellaneous stocks Consolidated Bricks held yesterday's advance. Wool worths (ord.) seemed inclined to slip a little. Commonwealth shares were firm. Glass sold 1/6 and 1/9 higher. Buyers for Broken Hill Proprietary went up to £3 14/ without doing business. In mining, Morgans sold unchanged.
