PRINCESS OF WALES STAKES. WON BY TAJ AKBAR. 1 (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 2. The Princess of Wales Stakes of £30 each, with £2000 added, for three and four-year-olds, one mile and a half, run at Newmarket to-day, resulted:— TAJ AKBAR, b c, 3yrs, by Fairway— ffaj Shirin (H.H. Aga Khan) 1 OMAHA, eh c, 4yrs, by Gallant Fox— , Flambino (Mr. W. Woodward) .... 2 ESQUEMELING, cli or gr c, Syrs, by Le Voleur—The Basilisk (Mr. J. A. de Rothschild) ... .' ; 3 Six started. Neck; live lengths. Taj Akbar was second favourite for the English Derby last month and he was the elect of the Aga Khan's trio, the other pair being Malimoud and Bala Hissar. However, Malimoud beat him.
