OVERSEAS LEAGUE.
ADDRESS ON NETHERLANDS. At an At Home given by members of the Overseas League yesterday afternoon, Mrs. F. Bauer gave an llluminatin<* address on the speaker commenced by giving a brief outline of what Holland in Europe and also Holland in her colonies was doing for her expansion and development. It was often believed, she said, that the Hollanders were entirely devoted to cultivating the soil,- 'yet industry took almost half the working population into its mines and factories. Holland, she continued, had a considerably lower death rate than almost any other country The rate of infantile mortality was particularly low, but credit was due to the natural .cleanliness of the people. Mrs. Bauer also-spoke of the: varied industries undertaken m Holland rang, in" from margarine to artificial silk, beet sugar, and the famous Fokker aeroplane strawboard.
