GOODS TRANSPORT.
MINISTER'S ATTITUDE. FIRST APPEAL DECISION. QUESTION OF COMPETITION. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. His first decision, as an appeal authority under the Transport Licensing Act, was given to-day -by the Ministei of Transport, the Hon. K. Semple. • It was an appeal by Gosling and Son, of Blenheim, against a decision of the No. 7 licensing authority in connection with a goods' service license. In the concluding paragraph of .a lengthy judgment, the Minister said: "As the question of unfair competition has arisen in connection with this case, I desire to say that it is the intention of the Government to make provision, under the regulations relating to the control of goods services, whereby a licensed operator, who is being.adversely affected by such competition, may apply to me to have the matter investigated. Where it is considered necessary I shall then refer the case to the licensing authority, who will review the license."
