NCAT AT A POM ARE, a chief of the Ngatimulunga (sub-tribe of the Ngatiawa), who migrated from Waitara district to Wellington, and in 1836 captured the Rodney in Wellington Harbour and sailed to the Chatham Islands. He n>as grandfather of Sir Maui Pomare, a memorial to whom was unveiled by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, in Taranak'i to-day. The bust of Ngatata Pomare was executed by Nelson Illingworth to the order of the Government for the Dominion Museum.
