COUNTY COUNCIL POSITION. SALE OF ELECTRIC COOKERS. The Department of Public Works has refused the application of the Waimairi County Council for trading powers so that it could sell electrio cookers to its ratepayers. The chief electrical engineer of the Department, Mr. F. T. M. Kissel, wrote that hjs Department was "not prepared to recommend that additional powers should be extended, to the local authorities, whieh were not set up solely for the purpose of distributing electrical energy."
