Busy Fingers Club (New Lynn) — Another club, wliich gives promise or being just as active as its sister club (Rata) has been formed in the New Lynn district. The captain is Rhoda Kennell, South Lynn Road, and her "Busy Fingers are Gloria Banks, Joan MacGillavray, Mavis Kent, Ella Bancicli, Nancy Parkes, Grace Campbell, Irene Whyley and Clarice I\orgrove. No less than 65 patches have been received from the "Busy Fingers" during the past week, as well as a beautiful quilt, and a" dear little baby frock. Ninetyseven points so far. We hope to see you all at the "Star" Office one day soon. * * * * Helpers League (Mount Eden) —This Is a little Mount Eden Club whose captain, I think, is Lesley Utting, 232, Balmoral Road. (Is that right, Lesley?) There are two other members, Beverley Walpole and June Carey. The Helpers League sent in 30 patches during the week so they have a total or 30 points. * * * * Parahaki Club (Whangarei)—This new club comprises the girls or the Whangarei Presbyterian Junior Bible Class. The captain is Dorothy Johnson, 12, Callers Avenue, and the members are Freda Burjress, Lorna Dunn, Mary Durham, Joan Grantham, Jean McDonald, Clem Mackay, Catherine Mitchell and Joyce Simpson. We extend a warai welcome to them all. * * * * Sunray Club—The Sunray Club continues to work splendidly Tor the cam-paig-n. During* tlic woek two swoot little pram quilts, lined with blue silk, arrived at the I'eler Pan orilee, a little winceyette Jbab.v set and 24 patches. The Sunray's total to date is 343. » * * * Green Gables Club (Birkenhead) —Thirty points to the Green Gables Club. We thank Marjorle Louden for her nice parcel of 12 patches. Are there any Birkenhead Sunbeams who would like to join this club?
Helpful Shadows (Mount Albert) —Welcome to Joyce and Colleen Avey, the two newest members to the ranks or the Helpful Shadows. The club's girt for the "v,;eek was a welcome patchwork pram quilt, bringing the club's points up to 47.
Huia Club (Green Lane) —Josie Baker Torwarded a big parcel or clothes during the week. This girt brought her club's points up to 56. The Huia Club is still looking ror new members in the vicinity of Green Lane.
Priscilla Club (Devonport)—Twenty patches and a 2/ piece from Monica Matlieson hring the Prisoilla's points up to 82. I am wondering how the Priscilla Club is getting on, and ir any meetings have been held as yet.
Odds and Ends (Whenuapai)—Five new members for the Odds and Ends Club. We extend a warm welcome to Meryl Sinton, Melva Waddel, Wilma Armstrong, TS'oelKie Wisely and L ean Hancock. LcvarTie Sinton's girt was a lovely mauve flowered quilt and a pare si or clothes, while the club contributed a patchwork quilt and several garm-nts. These parcels brought this club's points up to too
Marigold Club (Te Knit!) —Welcome to Marjorle Mulr, the latest newcomer to the ranks or the Marigold Club. Marjoric's parcel or clothes and material for lining gives her club their flrst 15 points. * » » * Little Rays (Rotorna) —Twelve splendid patches arrived from the Little Rays during the week. We would like them to know they are among the best we have so l'ar received. Twelve points to the Little Ra y - .... Kowhai Elves—One hundred and twenty patches rrom the Kowhai Elves this week. This is a splendid parcel indeed, and •brings tlio Elves' total points up to 14 5. Congratulations. # # # Kowhai Bright Ideas—A new club connected with the Kowhai Junior High School—this one is captained by Nola Wilson, vice-captain Betty Ashford, and secretary June Hunt. The members are Gretchen Blott, Kathleen Olds, Marjorle Halstead, Marie Keatly, Nancy Edgar, Margaret RafTan, Shirley Robinson, Elaine Fowler and Edna May. * # * * Pixies Club (Epsom)— Some wonderrul gifts have arrived rrom the Pixies during the past seven days. Ailsa and Peggy Wallace ronvarded us three big parcels or warehouse samples, and 10 patches. The samples are already in the hands or our ladies' committee, who are swiftly converting them into little shirts, trousers and frocks. Three more lovely quilts arrived from Gloria and Shirley Bell, one sweet little orange satin one being specially admired at the Peter Pan oince. Parcels of patches, clothes and linings came to hand rrom Margaret and Geraldine Grubb, Nancy Aldred and Eileen Moore— all these together bringing the total of the Pixies up to the amazing figure or 715. Well done!
Blockhouse Bay Sunbeams — Twenty members comprise this enthusiastic band or Sunbeams. Welcome to Gladys Morgan, Alice Leuty and Lillian Leuty. A big parcel or 35 patches arrived during the course ol' the week. This makes 113 points for the club.
Happy Club (Dominion Road)- —A new member Tor the Happy Club, which very nearly has its lull quota of members now. Welcome to Winifred Bannatyne, of Dexter Avenue. Girts or patches and clothes from grown-up friends of the Happy workers has brought the total points up to 120.
Elves (Outpost)— Tills country club now has its full quota or members as the past week has seen the addition of no less than seven new names to its list or members. The Elves welcome Joy McCarthy, Shirley Heaby, Muriel Gray, Maude Thompson, Joan Davey, Edith Davey and Jessie Patterson. Points also have gone soaring skywards rrom 21 as shown last week to 84. The captain, Phyllis Beck, r sent along 35 patches and some material for linings; patches also arrived from Joy McCarthny, Shirley Heaby, Muriel Gray and Maude Thompson, as well as some silver Zlning threepences, from Maud. Newmarket Methodist Club—A very nice parcel arrived rrom this loyal band ol helpers at Newmarket. This contained 7 patches, some toys and books, and 1/3 Tor our silver lining rund. I wonder ir the captain would let me know her name, and how many members she has? Mnety points for this club. # ( Happy Workers (Onehunga Congregational Sunday School) —The Happy Workers' score still stands at thirty. Wendy has this week learnt the names or these new Sunbeams, and welcomes them as rollows: —Joyce McCullough, Margaret Stone, Dawn Eustace, Avis Eustace, Shirley Gillman, Yvonne Glllman, patty Merrick, Fay Wyatt, Dulcie Legg, Valda W'urm,, Mavis Roy and Maureen Bush. # Sunshine Club (Grey Lynn)—Dear me, but there are many new members this week l'or the Sunshine Club. Welcome to Elaine Kvle, Elsa Burgess, Betty Organ, Lorna Neal, Connie Harding, Sylvia Ross and Joan Spick. The Sunshine Club's points still stand at 7, but with all these new members I shall be expecting great things future. # # Portland Bees (Whangarei)—The Portland Bees' membership is terrific, but In small country towns our rule of 12 members does not api>ly. Twenty-three patches, a pair or baby bootees rrom iMary, and some baby garments lrom Gwen, bring the Bees' total up to 118. ♦ * * * Knitting Craze Club (Otahuhu) —And now for a host or new clubs. ■ First on the list another Otahuhu club—the Knitting Craze Club. It's name augurs very well for our campaign, doesn't it? it has rour members at present, their names being as rollows: —Rhona Goldsmith, Mary Judy, Maureen Finn and Ethel Brennan. Would the Knitting Craze Club advise us who their captain is? Friendly Way (Outpost)— Tills is yet another outpost club which we have lormcd here at headquarters. Already it has 58 points and the members are:—Eleanor Lindesay, Karaka; Hazel Dick, Waiulcu; Shirley Wilson, Kawakawa; June Jenks, Dorothy Booth, Kerepeehl; Ruth and Maude Dennis, Warkworth, and Ethel and Daphne Wright, Warkworth. Some lovely girts arrived from the "Friendly Way" members. First some clothes, patches and a nice pair of slippers from Shirley. Next four beautiful little cream singlets rrom Dorothy. Ruth and Maude Dennis who are renowned for their line needlework sent embroidered aprons and 10 patches, while Ethel and Daphne also sent aprons, and some very welcome clothes. All these girts bring the total points to 58. #
Saucy Susie Club —Another new club— the Saucy Susie Club claims no actual district as its headquarters, although three of its four members seem to be Avondale girls The members are Beryl Spain, Marie liowe, Kileen Somers and Helen Spain. We Have 110 advice as to who the captain is. • * * * »
Clematis Club (Onehunga)—Three new members for the Clematis Club. Welcome lo Pat Sutherland, 73, Selwyn Street, .Norma Pople, 11, Tarana Road, and Winnie White, 27, Selwyn Street. Nancy's five patches make this club's total 75.
Bellbirds (St. Heller's) —Two nice parcels came lo hand from the Bellbirds—32 patches and a pair or bootees from Doris Hlndman. and a dozen patches and some clothes from Fay Johnson; 106 points so far.
Jolly Club (Takanlnl) —A new member Tor tlie Jolly Clul>. Welcome to. Mavis Ilogan. A small parcel of knitted anrl material patches gives the Jolly Clul) 6 points.
Bluebell Club (Outpost)—' Mary Greig, who in past "weeks lias contributed some lovely g-il'ts to our campaign, again tliis week forwarded a sweet little pram quilt. Patches from Patricia O'llrlen and material patches rrom l-'lorls and Shirley INeal completed the Bluebell's girts for the week. 257 patches to date.
Rainbow Club (Mount Eden)— The Rainbow's total number or points have flown up to 25, this being- made possible by a parcel of books received from Betty Townsend. There is still room for a few .new members in the Rainbow Club. The captain Is June Johnston, and her address S, I'entland Avenue.
Secret Seven (Dcvonport)—Thirty-one patches arrived from the Secret Seven during- the week, and tills gift, together with the points awarded the club for work done at the "Star" ofllce a fortnight ago, brings their points up to 108. The eaptain, Joyce Gamble's, photograph appears In our page to-day.
Good Will Club (PonsonSy)—The membership or the Good Will Club remains the. same. Two big parcels of clothes and shoes rrom Elsa and Jessie Lafng and Marie Maxham give the Good Will Club a total or 155 points.
Starlets Club (Mount, Albert) —Welcome to Margaret Gibson, 53, Grand Avenue. Margaret's parcel of 23 patches and Shirley Sugden's of six patches bring the total points to 142.
Rata Club (New Lynn}—A new member for the Rata Club tills week—welcome to II ay in a Stalnton, ol' Gardner Street, ltayma's gift, or half a dozen patches and a really delightful pink cot quilt fro>m Jean Adams add 32 points to the IXata's total—2oo to date.
Cinderella Club (Avondale) —The Cinderella Club very nearly has its full quota or members. Wendy welcomes Margaret Bollard, Barbara Brebner, Marjorie lireb•ner, Ida Setters and Marjorie Button. Three dozen patches arrived from this club during the week, as well as seven tiny pairs of baby slippers from Margaret Bollard, and a parcel of material patches from the captain. Alice Tait. * * * * Patchwork Club (Outpost)— Two new niembers for the Patchwork Club—Adair .Mackersey, of Te Kuiti, and Eileen Fox, of Otahuhu. Adair's gift was a brown gym and 12 patches, while Eileen contributed a little pair of baby slippers and 0 patches. One hundred and ilfty-seven points to this outpost club. * * * * Euston Club (Sandringham)—This little club, captained by a boy lias 28 points to date. A parcel of 15 patches came to hand during the week, also yd for our silver lining fund. **;-** Star Twinklers Club (Mount Eden)— The "Twinklers" welcome .Marjorie Fleming, 13, View ltoad, and .Josie Iteid, 300, Mount Eden Road, to their club this week. Karaka Ciub (Takapuna)—A host or new members for the Karaka Club. Welcome to Alison Fyt'o, Betty Smith, Lynne Sutherland, Lorna Collins, Wilma Whiteside, Hester Moffat and Peter Dunne. Thirtysix patches arrived from the Karaka Club, and a parcel of clothes l'rom Maxine Dunne. Forty-live points to the credit ol' this Takapuna club. * * » • Cherry Pie Club (Epsom)— The Cherry Pie Club welcome Gwenythe Taylor, 15, King Edward Avenue, and June Bovaird. Marvcrn Road, who are the two newest members to their ranks. In one week the Cherry's points have ilown up from 11 to 113. This was made possible by three beautiful quilts, which arrived from Gwendoline lioseman. These quilts (which really are quilted) are made ol' satin, and are or a size to lit a cot. Two sweet little knitted petticoats from June Bovaird also helped add some points to the Cherry Pie's total. * * * * Kowhai Pixies (Kowhai Junior High) — Yet another new club connected with the Kowhai Junior High School. Shirley Coach, 00, Walters Road, is the captain, and the members are Maud Baxter, Thelma Toscan, Dorothy Wiles, Audrey Roan and Ailsa Collins. We send a warm welcome to "them all. * * * * Forget Me IMot Club (Onenmig-a)—This past week saw the arrival ol the lirst parcel from the Forget Me Not Clul), ana a very nice, one it proved to l)e, >0 - Thirtv-two patches, a shawl and a nice collection of baby clothes gives the torget .Me A'ols" their llrst 52 points. Well done! # Sunshine Elves (Otahuhu) —Sixty-one patches arrived from the "Elves" during the week—as well as several warm garments. This gives this Otalitihu Club a total of 09 points. Enid .Meld is the newly appointed captain, and we all agree at Sunbeam headquarters that she will make a very Kowhai Sunbeams (Kowhai School) — Another new club lias sprung up among the ranks of the Kowhai Junior High School pupils. The captain is Joan Cowan, secretary, Joan McGregor, and the Sunbeam members are Nancy Boyd, Bernice McFarlane, Shirley McFarlane, Laura Somers, June Mercer and Audrey Cornish. Welcome to the Kowhai Sunbeams.
Helpful Hands (Devonport)—A new club in opposition to the "Priseilla" and "secret Seven." This club has Betty Roberts. 24, King Edward Parade, for its captain, ana ttie members are Joyce Foster, Eileen roster, June "Wheeler, Betty Le Brie*, Pearl liaynes, Joyce Masters, Joyce \\liiteiiiim, Peggy Austin, Betty Mitchell, Dicdro Dunford and Maudie Stables. We hope soon to hear more of the doings ot tne "Helpful Hands." * * » * Magic Workers (junior girls, Chevalier School)— Another club which has sprung up in an Auckland school—we send a warm welcome to the Magic Workers," and to their captain, Pauline Heaphy, or 70, Walker Road. The members are Lesley McElroy. Lucy Lawson, Eileen Robinson. Joyce ilartwell and Betty Cook. Fifteen points so far for a nice parcel of baby clothes, which arrived during tile week from Pauline. Glen Tui Club (Te Aroha)—A tiny club of two members which lias been formed at Te Aroha. The captain is Mavis Watson, and her club mate is Marion Johnson. I am certain these sunbeams will soon be sending in the names of new members to swell their ranks. * * * Handicraft Club (Kowhai Junior High School)—\s our paper goes to press yet another Kowhai Club arrives post haste, just in time to lie squeezed in. This one is "the Handicraft Club, and the Captain is Misori Peter, the vice-captain Barbara. Bagnail (he secretary Audrey King, and jlie treasurer .loan I'oot. Margaret Werreii Enid Shaw, Pat Pickering and Pat Patterson are the remaining Handicraft members. * * * * Pollyanna Club (Takapuna)—Two new members for the Pollyanna Club this week, Svlvla l.epper, of 32. Quebec Road, and p'livilis Anderson, of Talniroto Road. This club's total of 15 points remains unaltereil. Prunella Club (Newmarket)— Welcome In Deluia Madigan, 31, Hath Street, parneli. who is a new member to the ranks of the Prunella Club. A'ew niembers are specially wanted for this club—who w.ll be the llrst to join up? Humming Club (Takapuna)—A new club has started in the Takapuna district — this one captained by Thelma Gilbert, Huron Street, Yvonne Wright and Ailsa Gilbert; are her two elubmates. and the club has a total of 15 points awarded for a parcel of clothes and a nice cot blanket. Sunbeam Companions (Kowhai Junior High School)— Another club for Kowhai School—the "Sunbeam Companions" have Shirley Easton for captain, Cynthia McDougall (vice-captain), and Tor members the following girls Mavis Mayhill, Anita Hrendall, Heather Rusden, Yvonne Fairweather, Doreen Wright, Dorothy Willburn ami Kathleen Trail. Bright Eyes Club (Uuahine)—Another little club of two members Welcome to Aileen Hall and Lynda Evans, bo Hi of lUiahine. I ant wondering who the captain is. Fifteen points for the "Bright Eyes" for a parcel or baby clothes from Aileen. Handy Helpers (Outpost)—-A truly staggering parcel arrived from the Handy Helpers Outpost Club, indeed, it was not a parcel at all, but a case tilled with clothes, talcum powder, face flannels, sweets, a satin cot quilt and a cretonne pram quilt. The Handy Helpers show the splendid total of 42S points.
