TOLL OF THE TIGERS.

Almost every week of the year a man, a woman or a child is killed by a tiger in Bengal. , This fact is revealed in the recentlyissued Bengal Government Report on Forest Administration for the year ended March 31, 1935. Tigers were responsible for the deaths of 45 human beings during this period; leopards killed three men and one woman; aiid wild elephants killed four men and a woman. Thirty-seven tigers and three cubs were killed by hunters during the year under review.
