ZANE GREY FILM.
TO BE MADE IN AUSTRALIA. HOLLYWOOD FINANCING. Seemingly impressed by the success of the Australian-financed, locally-pro-duced films "Thoroughbred" and "The Flying Doctor," Columbia Pictures of Hollywood has arranged to produce an outdoor romantic drama in the Commonwealth. Concrete plans have been set for a £20,000 (minimum) p.'cturisation of a story specially written by Zane Grey. Victor Jory has been signed for leading role and Hollywood director Clarence Badger contracted for the direction. Jory was mainly selected for his part on account of the performance he gave in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Clarence Badger introduced the famous expression and "It" girl to the screen, Clara Bow. His more recent assignments include the direction of "No, No, Nanette," "The Bad Man," "Under Western Skies," "Sweethearts and Wives," "Swim, Girl, Swim," "When Strangers Marry," etc. The story, entitled "Rangle River," is on the author's declaration "one of my greatest efforts to date," and has an Australian atmosphere. Jory left Hollywood on June 17, sailing by the Niagara for Auckland and Sydney, while Badger sailed on the Makura on June 3, and arrived in Sydney on June 27.
