REVENUE EXCEEDS ESTIMATES | (From Our. Own Correspondent.) I\l SUVA, June 17. ', The Customs revenue returns show a .'healthy-increase of receipts over the estimates. For the five months ended :May 31, the duties on imports amounted 'to, £105,385, as against £158,542, as estimated. The port and service tax i showed for imports £10,248, compared I With the estimate of. £8333, and for ['exports £3089, against £0067.
| ;. The net increase for the period Was | £0810. The continuing wet weather, together -with the 'slump in prospecting and ' mining development, has caused a .slackness in business which is making merchants cautious in ordering goods, 'and this may affect future revenue after a while.
