Three brothers named Atkins were, possibly, the heaviest family in the Knipi re at the time they lived. One weighed oOst, another o3st, the third S4st. For many centuries taxes were levied ;n all goods entering or leaving the ountry. The taxes were collected h.V he King "by right of custom.'' Ht >|K ' e -lie term "customs."
