In view of the hard ride that faces the starters in the big race to be staged by the Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club oil the King's Birthday, it is holding a short race, live laps of the lake circuit (181 miles), on Saturday, commencing at 2.30 p.m. Mr. Steve Gallagher's handicaps :■ — E. Intending starters in the big race on the King's Birthday are reminded that the race will commence sharp at eleven o'clock. All riders must report to the starter before that time for checks and machine inspection by the centre officials, who have the power to hold up any machine they consider not in accordance with the rules of the N.Z.A.C.A. . AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB. The Ladies' Club held a seven-mile handicap race on Saturday. The race was won by Miss Arrol (.">oh) , with Miss McGeeliin (scratch) second. Miss Arrol, tiding steadily, won by a good" margin. This rider is going a good deal better now and is getting out of the habit of rushriding. Miss McGeeliin rode very well and secured fastest time. She seems to be gradually getting lit. Miss G. Mcßae (15s) caught the limit riders and then had to retire with an attack of cramp.
