ELLERSLIE GALLOPS.

The only gallop of ■ importance at Ellerslie this morning was that of Te Hai and Lord Val, who completed a round on No. 2 grass track in 1.44. They ran the last half-mile in 535, and it was a satisfactory effort as the ground was a bit holding. Speedfast (Sharkey) and King Ara (Craddock) were schooled separately over the pony hurdles, both jumping well. Gay Princess (Sharkey) also cleared two of the bigger hurdles in good style, and afterwards ran six furlongs on the gjiss in 1.22 2-5. Lord Val, Black Maxim and Santoft leave by float on Monday for Tauranga, to fulfil engagements at the Opotiki meeting on Tuesday.
