EMBARGO ON LIVE STOCK. HEREFORD BREEDERS' VIEW. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) PALMERSTOX NORTH, Wednesday. Intensive competition from Australia and the Argentine in the meat export trade "nw cited by speakers at the annual meeting of the Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association to-day as an argument why New Zealand should take steps to have the embargo qgaiiint the direct importation of live stock from Britain lilted. A motion favouring the lifting of the embargo was then carried. Oflicerrt were elected as follows: — President, Mr. F. E. Humphreys; treasurer, Mr. E. E. Short; members of council, Messrs. E. Jefferson, W. K. Morton, D. Tynan and W. B. White. The following have been elected officers of the Red Poll Cattle Breeders' Association: Patron, Sir I-leaton Rhodes; president, Mr. J. W. Harding; members of council, Messrs. W. Leask, 0. R. Foreter Trat, O. McLeod and H. O. Bryant.
