B. OF PLENTY PRESBYTERY.
CHURCH'S ATTITUDE TO WAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHAKATANE, Monday. A discussion on the church's attitude to war took place at a meeting of the Bay of Plenty Presbytery in Whakatane. The Rev. J. Crawford McCaw, of Te Puke, moderator, presided. It was decided that the presbytery sliou'.d support the attitude that Christian men and women should seek by every cfTort to make and to maintain peace, but that if war is forced upon them they should take up arms. A call in favour of the Rev. Iv. Watson, of Normanby, was laid on the table by tho Whakatanc representatives Tt was agreed to sustain the call. The Wliakatane congregation submit ted plans for the erection of a manse. The plans were agreed to and the congregation was congratulated on its pro' gross. The Rev. J. Stewart, of Tanoatua, was elected moderator of the presbytery for the next 12 months.
