"FRESH FIELDS" COMPANY.
Proof of the popularity of Ivor Novello s witty comedy, "Fresh Fields," was evident in the reactions of the audience at last night's third performance of the play in His Majesty's Theatre. At least three New Zealanders have prominent parts m the company, which is presenting four plays during the local season, which have never previously been done _in the Dominion. These three are Mies Ethel Morrison, of Wellington, Miss Elaine Hamill, of Taihape, and Miss Katie Towers, of Thames. A matinee of "Fresh Fields" will be presented to-morrow afternoon and the final performance will be staged on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon arid evening the company will present Keith Winter's thrilling domestic drama, "The Shining Hour," which played long seasons in London and New York, and with which the present company achieved a success in Wellington recently. "The Shining Hour" gives great opportunities to the artists for exhibition of their talents. On Thursday, June 25, and four following nights "As Husbands Go" will be produced, and on Wednesday, July 1, and three following nights the season will be brought to a close with a production of "Night Must Fall."
