ORANGES FOR DUNEDIN.
SHORTAGE AVERTED.

DUNEDIN, this day. The secretary of the South Island Retail Fruiterers' Federation lias received a message from the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, that permission has been given for the importation into the South Island of an additional quantity of 2000 cases of oranges by the steamer Waitaki, which .will arrive at Dunedin on July 2. The message states that this should prevent any shortage of oranges arising. Shopkeepers here have no oranges at present, the market being practically bare.
